Abstract: The theme of this year?s seminar ?HOT ISSUES FOR SUGAR? is very timely. It seems
there are many issues indeed before our industry. Trade liberalisation is one on which much
has been said and much more will be said before of the present WTO negotiations on
agriculture conclude. Unfortunately, despite all the talk, to-date there has been little action.
